Built on Real Experience, Not Quick Fixes

Back in early 2021, we started xolivarent because we kept seeing the same problem. People would come to us stressed about money, but they didn't need another app or savings hack. They needed someone to sit down and actually map out where their money was going over the next five, ten, fifteen years.

Most financial advice focuses on the short term. Cut your coffee budget. Switch banks. And sure, those things help a bit. But what about when your kid needs braces in three years? Or when your car finally gives up? Real life doesn't fit into monthly budget templates.

What Guides Our Work

Honest Conversations

We don't sugarcoat your financial situation. If your spending pattern won't work long-term, we'll tell you. But we'll also help you figure out what will actually work for your life, not some ideal scenario.

Long-Term Thinking

Anyone can balance a budget for a month. We help you think through the next decade. What happens when your rent goes up? When you want to switch careers? When your parents need support? Planning means looking ahead.

Flexibility Matters

Life changes. Your budget should change with it. We build plans that can adapt when you get a raise, lose a job, or decide to move cities. Rigid budgets break. Flexible ones bend and keep working.

Why We Actually Started This

I spent years working in corporate finance, and the disconnect always bothered me. We'd spend weeks on quarterly forecasts for businesses, but when friends asked for money advice, the answer was always "just budget better." That seemed absurdly inadequate.

So in 2021, I started taking on clients one-on-one. Just sitting down with people and mapping out their actual financial lives. Not theoretical scenarios from textbooks, but real situations. Single parents juggling childcare costs. Couples trying to buy their first home while paying off student debt. Small business owners with irregular income.

By mid-2023, word had spread enough that I brought on a small team. Now we work with families across Queensland and beyond, helping them think through financial decisions that actually matter for their futures.

How We Actually Help

We Start With Your Real Numbers

First session, we go through everything. Income, fixed costs, variable spending, debt payments, savings. Not to judge, just to see the full picture. You can't plan for the future without knowing where you stand today. Most people are surprised by what they find when they actually track this properly.

Then We Map Forward

This is where long-term budgeting gets interesting. We build out scenarios for the next five to ten years. What if you stay in your current job? What if you switch? What if you have another kid? What if you move? We run the numbers on different possibilities so you can make informed choices.

We Build In Check-Ins

A budget you make in January 2025 won't still fit in August. We schedule quarterly reviews to adjust as life changes. Got a raise? Great, let's redirect that money strategically. Lost your job? Okay, let's shift to survival mode and map out next steps. Adaptability isn't optional.
